Third-party service providers.
In a nutshell, there are some services that jenniferblair.org cannot
provide at this time: hosting, domain registration, some coding languages
and Flash Web design to name a few.
I have provided the links on this page as a resource to help you find
these services. Please keep in mind that I have visited all of these
sites, but I cannot be responsible for any price changes, payment
arrangements, customer service or individual business practices.
Please be sure to select providers carefully with regard to your needs.
Will you be using MS FrontPage?
Be sure to look for a host that provides FrontPage extensions.
If you register your domain with a company other than your host, you will
need to change DNS servers before the site will work. You should receive
this information after the order is placed with the hosting provider.
It
can take 24-48 hours for changes to take affect.
Some hosting companies will register your domain for you.
The cost varies, but I've seen an average of $15 per year.
Many hosting companies and registrars also offer design tools with domain
names for those that have little to no knowledge of Web design and some
also offer design services.
Most hosting providers will offer a certain amount of free space with site
building tools - which is not the same as signing up for a domain name.
The URL will look more like: WWW.THISHOST.COM/FREEWEBSPACE/MYSITE
